ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION
PROJECTS AND REALIZATIONS IN THE PERIOD JANUARY 2016 - JUNE 2018

I. INTRODUCTION

Every Bulgarian architect, working in Bulgaria or abroad, has the right to participate.
The purpose of the competition is to show the latest trends in the modern Bulgarian architecture.
Only projects and realizations realized in the period January 2016 - June 2018 are allowed to be presented during the competition.
The competition regulation does not provide premium for separate projects and separate realizations.
The choice of topic and content of the project (realization), presented for participation in the competition, is entirely up to the author.

Each participant has the right to submit maximum 2 (two) projects or realizations.
Each project or realization shall be submitted only in the form of 1 (one) board with dimensions 70/100 cm.
For this purpose, the boards must be produced in digital format according to a predefined diagram/scheme (see the Board Technical Requirements).

The Organizers are obliged to have the boards printed on a foam board and exhibited at the National Art Gallery, Alexander I Square, Sofia.

The projects will be evaluated by an international jury with representatives from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, France and other countries.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION

All Bulgarian architects and urban planners, working in Bulgaria and abroad and holding a master’s degree, are entitled to participate.

Each participant has the right to participate in the competition with a maximum of 2 (two) projects.

DEADLINES

The start of the competition is 30 March 2018
Deadline for submitting questions is 12 April 2018.
Deadline for providing answers to the questions is 19 April 2018.
Deadline for registration is 22 May 2018.
Deadline for submitting competition projects is 28 May 2018.
Exhibition of the projects - 5/6 - 10 June 2018.
Evaluation by the jury of the submitted projects - 8 and 9 June 2018.
Awards Ceremony – 9 June 2018.


REGISTRATION FOR THE COMPETITION

1. The registration is done electronically
It is necessary to send a request to participate by filling in a form, which can be found at the Competition’s website.
Received registrations will be confirmed with a reverse email containing the participant’s entry number.
Those who have not received an e-mail confirmation within three business days, may use the contact details provided by the Organizer to receive additional information.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Questions can be sent to the Competition’s e-mail address no later than 12 April 2018.
Questions sent through other communication channels will not be accepted, except for the ones related to registration of participants.
All answers to the questions received will be publicly available on the Competition’s website.

SUBMISSION OF PROJECTS FOR PARTICIPATION

Each participant has the right to no more than 1 (one) board per project (realization) with dimensions 70/100 cm - vertically oriented.
When submitting the projects, 1 (one) digital media (CD) shall be handed over as well.
It shall contain the following information:
• Competition board - 1 (one) board per project (realization)
in files with .tiff format, in real dimensions 70/100 cm, with a resolution of 300 dpi;
• Competition board 1 (one) board per project (realization)
in files with .jpg format for the purposes of on-line (web publishing), with a file size of no more than 500 kb, with a resolution of 72 dpi

When submitting the project, the participant will receive the corresponding confirmation.
Receipt by courier is possible only upon delivery of the projects to the address specified by the Organizer, within the specified delivery period.

The Organizers are obliged to have the boards printed on a foam board and exhibited at the National Art Gallery, Alexander I Square, Sofia.
The costs of printing the boards are at the expense of the Organizers.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE COMPETITION

The official languages of the competition are Bulgarian and English.

JURY

The composition of the international jury will be presented by the Organizer and publicly announced on the Competition’s website.

EXHIBITIONS AND PUBLICATIONS OF THE PROJECTS

Exhibition dates from 5 to 10 June 2018.
All projects will be publicly exhibited at the National Art Gallery, Alexander I Square, Sofia.

The Organizer reserves the right to publish the competition projects and results.
